Meet Marigold!

Meet Marigold! Sweet, big, goofy and a lot of fun!

Can you believe that just a few months ago, Marigold was left abandoned and severely underweight in a yard with her sister in south Texas? But the good volunteers of Lost Ball Canine Rescue swooped in to save her, and after a short time in a loving, caring foster home, Marigold has blossomed into a healthy, wonderful, playful companion!

Marigold is sweet and affectionate. She loves attention in any form: being scratched, petted or played with. She’s a ‘velcro dog’ — she likes to be near someone and will follow you around the house. And as large as Marigold is, she’s a lap dog and loves to draper herself on top of her favorite seated or reclined person.

Marigold is goofy. She's like a giant puppy sometimes. She lays down to nap in the most awkward looking positions. She also likes to pretend she's big and fierce by making a hilarious growling noise when she's playing. (see video)

Marigold is fun! She’s very playful with both people. Her favorite game is to chase and be chased around the house or out in the yard. She recently learned to catch a ball which she then likes to turn into a game of “Catch me if you can”. She will try to play with most dogs, too, but her goofy approach sometimes gets lost in translation.

Although Marigold can be a bit shy when meeting new people, she likes to make new friends and will warm up to just about anyone pretty quickly (with the understandable exception of certain mothers-in-law). She’s good with children who approach her calmly.

She walks well on a leash and LOVES her long morning and evening walks (3-4 miles daily). With her long legs and athleticism, she’d make a great running/jogging buddy, too.

Marigold settled in very well with her foster brother and sisters: a male Beagle, a female Lab and a female Australian Cattle Dog, and she has met many dogs in and out of the home. She would be fine as the only dog or with another dog buddy in the home.

She only barks when she hears someone knocking at the door or ringing the doorbell and, boy, does she have a BIG bark! She sleeps quietly, is housebroken, and rides great in the car. She’s also doing well with off-leash training, too!
